Adventurers from all over the world are taking over Marseille. Rumors and whispers mention a Count, bent on revenge who would have hidden an impressive treasure in the Chateau d'If. This Count, the infamous Count of Monte Cristo, who spent years in prison, most certainly knows every nook and cranny of the dungeons, making the prison d'If the ideal hiding place for his treasure. You are in charge of an adventuring party and your goal is simple get your hands on as much treasure as possible.

The Secret of Monte Cristo introduces a new gaming mechanism that changes the traditional play order: the Action Slide. With it, you now play your actions according to the position of your marbles in the various tracks. In this adventure, your most important decisions will often require you to wait patiently to play at the most opportune time.
