Alexander the Great acquired the throne of Macedon in the darkest of times. Its previous king, his father Philip II had just been assassinated, and the neighboring countries eyed Macedon hungrily. There was also the old score to be settled with the Persians. Their empire sprawled across most of the known world, but they had also raided Macedon a century earlier and this was an offense Alexander knew must be righted. Many would have been satisfied simply defending their borders, but Alexander set his sight on ruling the world.

Field Commander Alexander includes 4 historical campaigns on mounted game board: Granicus, Issus, Tyre, and Gaugamela. In each campaign, you move your army, build temples, found cities, and complete prophecies. Your decision create an endless variety of outcomes, which makes each campaign infinitely re-playable. Your decisions will directly affect the life of Alexander and his conquest of the Ancient World. You can also link your campaigns to play through Alexander's life, and his quest to rule the world.

Field Commander is a SOLITAIRE GAME. You are placed in command of Alexander's forces and make historically accurate decisions, while the built in game system controls the opposing forces. This means you can play the game at your own pace, whenever, and wherever you choose.
